FAQs

Why do I need to see a registered dietitian nutrionist?

  1. Improve your health: There is a clear connection between the foods we eat and our health. I will help guide you to make healthy, sustainable choices and changes to improve your health.

  2. Manage a disease: Seeing a doctor, taking your medication, and adjusting your nutrition needs go hand in hand for managing diseases.

  3. Maximize your performance with every day life or at the gym: Food is fuel! How you fuel your body will not only affect your day to day activities, but also maximize your performance at the gym.

Is working with a nutritionist compatible with pregnancy? How can a nutritionist help me while I am pregnant?

Yes! I can help make sure you are properly nourishing yourself as well as your growing baby. I can help you navigate nausea, food aversions, and healthy weight gain.

What is a registered dietitian nutritionist?

Dietitians work in many areas such as hospitals, nursing homes, private practice, food service management, sports nutrition and so much more. In most treatment areas as a dietitian (RD), we focus on ensuring adequate nutrition is met to sustain a healthy lifestyle or manage diseases.

How is working with a dietitian different than going on a diet?

Diets don’t work. A dietitian will help you make sustainable changes to improve your health and not just focus on getting thin. A dietitian can also work together with your medical providers to create a team for your healthcare needs.

Do you work with children?

Yes, I do work with children to provide nutrition education, create meal plans and monitor the progress of children with medical conditions that can be affected by their nutrition. I also work with the parents and caregivers to identify nutritious meals and snacks for their children.
